ADA is currently seeking a full time Research and Development / Manufacturing Production Technician for our Littleton, CO USA location. The selected individual will contribute to research and development and product development, and/or manufacturing production in support of thermal management and energy storage. This includes but is not limited to thermal interface materials, nano-inks, nanocomposites, batteries, supercapacitors, and hybrids of the same. Efforts will support a broad spectrum of research and development activities (primarily government contracts), new product development, process improvement for experimental / existing products, and lab operations and maintenance. The selected individual will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Prepare/synthesize experimental materials or processing techniques and specifications with guidance from scientists or engineers
  • Assist in the development of specifications for raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished products
  • Document attributes and preparation instructions
  • Coordinate activities including materials procurement, lab preparation, sample production, and data collection
  • Responsible for data collection, observations, and documentation of test results
  • Calibrate and maintain the operation of instruments, equipment, and lab facilities
  • Maintain lab areas and equipment in clean and operable conditions; assist in maintaining lab supplies
  • Maintains, records, and reconciles expense receipts
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of lab supplies, sub-assemblies, and finished goods according to requests and instructions


  • Associate's degree (minimum); Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 1-5 years related experience
  • Physical science degree (preferred); co-op, internship, or part-time experience as a student will be considered towards experience
  • Prior experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
    • Composites, coatings, and nanomaterials
    • Wet chemistry lab experience
    • Thin films, inks, solids, and/or liquid composites comprised from fillers and/or nanomaterials
  • Excellent communication skills are mandatory
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with common software packages such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are highly desirable
  • Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness and ability to multi-task
  •  Willingness and ability to calibrate and operate laboratory instruments, as well as lab and pilot-scale production equipment such as coaters, mixers, and test equipment

ADA currently has research and commercialization programs in the areas of advanced energy storage, thermal material, and fire safety systems. In support of its thermal materials business, ADA is seeking a Senior Production Technician to support the company in establishing the manufacturing of thermal materials at its Littleton, CO headquarters.

position description

This position is part of a new product team and will be responsible for a variety of activities including handling, mixing, assembly, fabrication of product, packaging, and quality duties for a new line of thermal material products. The work is exacting and requires the ability to carefully follow procedures and methods to be successful.

Senior Production Technicians should expect to work on their feet for shifts of as many as eight hours per day in a manufacturing or assembly plant environment. Additionally, the technician may need to lift small loads comfortably.

Senior Production Technician tasks include:

  • Independently set up and operate production equipment and perform basic maintenance on equipment
  • Responsible for machine operation
  • Adhere to all regulations relating to health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures
  • Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications

This is a full time position. Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour.


This position will initially report to the Thermal Materials Program Manager and interact with a variety of technical support personnel and other positions.

Minimum Requirements

GED or H.S. Diploma

U.S. Citizenship Required

Work experience

No less than 2 years of comparable manufacturing experience.
