The Leader in Amalgam Separation Technologies
Without an amalgam separator, mercury is discharged to the local sewer system which contributes to the environmental mercury burden and can lead to permit violations.
In 2001, ADA Technologies, Inc. launched its wholly owned subsidiary Aqualitech® LLC to manufacture and sell dental amalgam separation technologies developed under funding from NIH's National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program.
As environmental concerns regarding mercury have grown, municipalities often require dental offices to limit amalgam discharges. Amalgam separators provide the only effective method of keeping dental mercury from entering sewer systems. ADA-developed dental amalgam separators which when operated in conjunction with a coalescing line cleanser, provide efficient and reliable mercury reduction. A study conducted by the American Dental Association comparing 15 available amalgam separator products ranked the two Aqualitech-developed products first and second resulting in 99.91% mercury capture..
This product line was distributed to the dental profession via a relationship formed with Sultan HealthCare, Inc. in September of 2005.
